WCCF Donors award $2,100 grant to Hoosiers Help

Thanks to generous donors who have supported the Washington County Community Foundation Disaster Relief Fund, Hoosiers Help is the grateful recipient of a $2,100.00 Rapid Response Grant.  "Hoosiers Help is very thankful for the $2,100 grant from the Washington County Community Foundation.  We saw a need for helping the elderly shut-ins in our community during this pandemic.  The schools are doing a great job taking care of getting food for students.  With the elderly being at greater risk for this virus, we felt a need to help get food to shut-ins so they did not have to go out to the stores,"   stated Joy Godfrey, Hoosier Help Volunteer.  The grant money will be used to purchase food.

The Foundation reactivated the Disaster Relief Fund in March to address emerging community needs cause by the COVID-19 Pandemic.  “Our donors are amazing,” explained Judy Johnson, Executive Director of the Washington County Community Foundation.  “Donations large and small will make a difference.  This grant will help elderly shut-ins which is so important, as they are in a high risk category for COVID-19.”   More information about the Rapid Response Grants can be found on the Foundation’s website.
