Understanding Our Resources – Students will learn the connection between consumption and available resources by conducting research on the Internet and submitting reports.  Maps with worldwide resources, their locations, and their uses will be used.  The project will culminate with the use of “Clever Catch” balls that are tossed back and forth as each student responds to the question under the left thumb.

Building Futures Together – Develop a backdrop for the Cubs News TV Show.  Middle school students will collaborate with High School Building Trades students on the project.  (The committee also recommends WCCF award Zoma Barrett $350.00 for the activities in Cubs News as gratitude for the work on the DVD the staff produced.

Young Author Courier Journal County-Wide Essay Contest – Celebrating the elementary students who follow the writing process through the publication of a book.  The teacher has resubmitted three separate applications at the request of the committee.  The applications list the teachers for each grade that will be participating in the project.
