The Washington County Community Foundation recently awarded the YMCA a $5,000.00 grant for to help fund an aquatics program. The grant was awarded from the John and Paula Jones Touch Tomorrow fund and the Foundation’s Touch Tomorrow fund. The grant was awarded through one of the Foundation’s semi-annual competitive grant cycles.
The YMCA aquatics program will operate from the Salem Middle School gym. Activities that will be offered include: swim team, swim lessons, water aerobics, adult swim and recreational swimming. Volunteers with the program will stress aquatic safety, for children and families and encourage fitness through water recreational activities.
